Rob Garrett’s “KING OF DIAMONDS” Las Vegas tribute show is still thrilling audiences in the “Modern Showrooms Las Vegas” at Alexis Park Resort Hotel.
Neil Diamond is one of the best-selling and most iconic singer/songwriters in contemporary pop-rock music history.
More than just being one of the biggest selling and most successful live artists ever, he’s also written and recorded the soundtrack of our lives — including some of the most famous songs on the planet.
In January 2018, shortly before his 77th year, Neil Diamond retired from touring after being diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease.
However, Diamond’s on-stage legacy continues to be kept alive for audiences throughout the world through tribute artist Rob Garrett, widely regarded as the top Neil Diamond tribute artist.
Ask Siri “who is the best Neil Diamond tribute artist,” and you’ll always hear Rob Garrett.
Like his musical hero, Rob Garrett was a Brooklyn, New York native.
In May 1974, his parents moved the family from New York City to Las Vegas, where, in 1976, he witnessed his first Neil Diamond concert when Diamond made his attendance-breaking Las Vegas debut at the Aladdin Theater for the Performing Arts (now “PH Live”) in July 1976.
Garrett went on to see him 16 more times across the country—right up until Diamond’s final U.S. concert at the Los Angeles Forum on August 12, 2017.
In 1980, Garrett formed his own band, “Rock n Roll Heaven,” and enjoyed a decade-and-a-half career in Las Vegas and across the nation before deciding to move from cover band frontman to a full-time tribute performer dedicated to one of his musical idols.
In 1995, Garrett was personally hired by the legendary Paul Revere to portray Neil Diamond in the Honolulu production of “Legends in Concert”.
What was meant to be a three-month trial turned into a three-year success.
By August 1998, Garrett returned home to Las Vegas and continued to perform with “Legends” for another Neil Diamond tribute Las Vegas dinner and show package two years before deciding to launch his own show.
He began a nationwide performance schedule, building a large and loyal following along the way—earning the title “King of Diamonds Neil Diamond Tribute.”
He continues to sell out theaters nationwide, often in venues reserved for national acts.
Garrett has also earned several honors, including “Male Tribute Artist of the Year.”
“Since Neil Diamond retired, I’ve felt a strong sense of responsibility to keep his legacy alive for future generations. It’s something I never get tired of doing,” he said.
On May 19, Las Vegas Mayor Carolyn Goodman officially proclaimed the date “Rob Garrett Day,” commemorating his 50 years living in Las Vegas and 44 years as a professional Vegas performer.
Now in 2025, Garrett celebrates 45 years on stage in Las Vegas, with the last three decades devoted solely to paying tribute to the now-retired Neil Diamond.
It has been said that no other tribute artist is so closely identified with the original performer as Garrett, who has played in more Vegas rooms than any peer.
Since the June closing of “A Beautiful Noise” (the Broadway jukebox musical based on Diamond’s life story), Rob Garrett’s “King of Diamonds” show has become the only active Neil Diamond tribute production in America.
Alexis Park Hotel Las Vegas is located at 375 E. Harmon Ave., just ¼ mile west of Paradise Rd..
